Blizzard cap Diablo III co-op at 4, no voice-chat at launch

Upcoming action-RPG Diablo III from Blizzard won't be allowing more than 4 players together in a game, despite having 5 character classes to choose from. No reason was stated.

There won't be any voice-chat support at launch as the studio wants to make sure it works perfectly. There are also no plans for a higher resolution pack of textures - no 'ultra'.

Diablo has never been much about the graphics but still it's always nice to have some eye candy. Adding an ultra setting wouldn't make any difference said Community Manager Bashiok.

A new skill system is on the way for the beta with the next patch bringing a number of changes to character classes. An expansion to Diablo III is possible, mused Bashiok, and a midnight launch will be supported by a digital download likely available the very moment it's officially released.

Does a 4 player co-op limit bother you, video gamer? Do you always play it alone?

Well... in my case it doesn't bother me much, because I haven't really played Co-op games with more than four players.

Wow - will there even be a game or just a slot machine and online shop in the end?
New game mechanics that is simplified, always online, easier crafting, more items and a huge shop... So what is this game all about?
Diablo taking over a company and trying to squeeze moneys worth out of every mouse click - yeah that sounds scary and true....
