Frictional: A Machine for Pigs won't be "friendly, cuddly or cozy"

For those few gamers who are worried about the lightening of the mood in the sequel to the dark horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, A Machine for Pigs, Frictional Games boss Thomas Grip reassures them that the game will be anything but "friendly, cuddly or cozy."

That's not a pinata filled with candy, kids.

The reassurance came when a fan posted in Reddit that he was worried the game wouldn't be as creepy as the first game, perhaps in part to the collaboration with TheChineseRoom, whose thoughtful, sad adventure game Dear Esther was released in the past week.

Grip's response was creepy unto itself. His response stated directly, “Our dear collaborator, Chinese Room, has gone to great lengths to conjure up the most disturbing and repulsive subtitle for a game yet. There is nothing friendly, cuddly or cozy about a machine for pigs. Men do not make machines that play with pigs, or sing cute songs for pig. No, there are only horrible and terrifying implications with this kind of machinery.”

“If it would have been a less scary Amnesia it would have been called “Amnesia: A trip to rainbowland” or perhaps “Amnesia: A machine for cookie baking,” Grip added.

If that weren't enough, Grip went into graphic detail of what to expect from the game, bragging, "Your dreams will be filled with creaking machinery, the desperate cries of pigs, the rattle of chains and the dreadful feeling of something unspeakable is watching you from beyond. That is when you will regret thinking that A Machine for Pigs would be not a very scary experience.”

Grip did relay some more substantial news about Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. He stated that the game would be released on PC first with Mac and Linux ports following at some point. An Xbox Live Arcade version was considered but eventually dropped due to time constraints.

OH YEAH!!! Damn... I am looking forward to this game now. Busy playing the Penumbra games, and Overture wasn't really scary, but Black Plague is a whole lot different. So the new Amnesia is something I most definitely am looking forward to xD
