Rumor: Assassin's Creed III to feature Native American assassin

It seems the rumors of Assassin's Creed III taking place during the American Revolution may be accurate, since some new promotional art has been spotted with the protagonist - and he seems to be Native American.

The assassin is wearing an 18th century longcoat, under which what seems to be Native American jewelry. There's a bow and arrow strapped to his back, while he wields a Tomahawk in one hand, and an 18th century musket in the other. In the background is the classic Betsy Ross American flag.

The other promotional item seems to indicate UbiSoft will be officially unveiling the new game next week on the 5th March.

Heh. I suspected Loyalist character or something, but a Native American is actually a nice approach.

I dont think the idea is crap, I'll wait until I play it and see how the story pans out before I judge it. Personally I think the assassin's creed game's just keep getting better and better.

Why would it be crap? An idea can never be crap, you should wait and see the end result before you pass judgement like that :P

I don't think it's as interesting as either Altair or Ezio's backgrounds, and I can't imagine what they would have to replace either Constantinople or Rome. America just wasn't that parkour-friendly then.

Revelations was a pretty weak entry, though.

A little different idea for once, could be fun.

I think it's extremely interesting, considering the relationship between an indigenous native with a large force encroaching on his land. The Founding Fathers of the US were also occult-themed Masons ($1 bill, anyone?). Neither Altair nor ESPECIALLY Ezio were oppressed minorities.

The new Assassin will be dealing with the people who will later be slaughtering Native Americans 80 years later.
