Just because we're into the fifth instalment of the Assassin's Creed franchise, but the third full sequel, it doesn't mean newcomers aren't welcoming to hop on - Ubisoft encourage it.

There's a "huge will" at Ubi to bring "more gamers into this universe." It's the publisher's "biggest and most ambitious" launch to-date. It's been in development for 3 years.

Assassin's Creed III was unveiled as being set during the American Revolution, and will have us cast as a new Assassin, Connor, who's half native American. It's due October 31st.

“This is a huge investment for us and we’re extremely confident that together, all these factors will put us in pole position to compete against the other titles this Xmas," said Ubisoft UK MD Rob Cooper.

“This is a great time for gamers to join the adventure,” he said. “There’s a huge will from Ubisoft to bring more gamers into this universe." This is the first full sequel since ACII where a new hero is introduced as Ezio was 'retired' in Revelations. The series overall has sold passed 38 million copies worldwide.

“Assassin’s Creed III is the biggest and most ambitious launch in Ubisoft’s history so we absolutely believe this game will continue to grow the franchise.” Assassin's Creed III releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

It will be interesting to see how this game ports to the "outside world", I mean, not in a city-scape anymore. No towers to climb? No diving off the tower afterwards? Will I soon get tired of swinging through the trees? Last time I played, it DID make me feel very violent.. but maybe, that's just me...

While i have always anted to like the Assassins Creed concept that game-play is horrendous for me and the controls and moving about is to close up for comfort on computer.
That and all the stuff with UbiSoft is making this a great time for me to continue to skip out- I would really like to like it - but nope - not for me i guess. The setting sounds really fun though.
