One of the pioneers of first person shooters, John Romero, has let slip that he may start work on a retro-styled shooter. Romero worked on such titles as Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Doom II and Quake. When a fan asked him, "Have you guys given up on making a good old school FPS?", John Romero replied, "Definitely not! I have plans..." He later reassured the public that he is not going to make Daikatana 2. The last shooter Romero was involved in was the canceled Severity project, which was being developed in 2006 explicitly as a cybersports title. | |
