GameStop isn't the only company that has its eyes on struggling UK retailer GAME. Major retailers Comet and Walmart have expressed interest in acquiring GAME. Meanwhile, megalithic US retailer Walmart is also looking into buying the company. Walmart already has a presence in the UK, being the owner of Asda, a supermarket chain. Walmart also purchased streaming video service Vudu in February 2010. Walmart as a whole generated $422bn of revenue worldwide. A few days ago, it was reported that GameStop was looking to buy GAME's Spanish properties, with the possibility of purchasing the entire chain not out of the question. Source: MCV | |
