nVidia's VP of corporate marketing Ujesh Desai has unveiled to gamers in a new video the company's newest graphics card, the powerhouse GeForce GTX680, which he calls "the fastest and most efficient GPU we've ever built."

Aside from being a monster card, nVidia has also made it a point to also have a quiet, efficient card as well, without noisy, power consuming fans.

Another feature is something nVidia calls "GPU Boost", which actually boosts clock speed when playing certain games, like Battlefield 3. Another feature shown off is one Desai describes as "TXAA", which automatically removes jaggies without any sort of performance hit. The updated PhysX engine is also highlighted, with dynamic fracturing and advanced fur physics shown off.

According to official specs, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 offers 2048MB GDDR5 video memory and supports DirectX 11. Gamers can also take advantage of the dual SLI or 3-way SLI. Additionally, the card also features 2 DVI, 2 mini-display ports, and 1 HDMI output, allowing for up to four monitors to be connected at once.

Check out the presentation showing off the card's capabilities in the video below.

Sure is amazing stuff! Don't suppose you'll have one of these to give away?

You wish :)

I doubt it as this is more of a software site that has very little to do with hardware. I don't see Nvidia giving SI any free samples.

One can only dream :)

I have to say im kinda impressed by the GTX680 after reading the reviews. A great performer with great TDP, that used to be ATi's forte for the last few generations.

Consider me salivating!

Hehe don't expect it NovaPaddy. We don't really have much of a relationship with any hardware manufacturer at this time.

It's the site's one flaw. You don't deal out free hardware...I might be asking for a little much there :P

@Kres: I received the info in an embargoed press release. Unfortunately, they never give away hardware. Just let you tantalizingly borrow it.

Saving pennies....should have enough by the time a mid-range priced version comes on the scene (as the 560Ti is for the 500's). GPU Boost - love it.

This is a masterpiece. I like the idea of connecting it to many screens at once.

The Gpu BOOST was a nice idea.
