The City of Heroes and the City of Villains are to become one as NCsoft unveil their future plans for the online superheroes. Subscription to one will now net both games.
One more step awaits -- announced later in the year -- which will complete the merging of Heroes and Villains. The team proclaims this as "an evolution of the IP".
"In setting the stage for our upcoming plans for the IP, we felt the time was right to truly consolidate the City of Heroes and City of Villains universe," said GM and executive producer, Brian Clayton.
"We have removed all restrictions that were created when City of Villains launched in order to make way for some really cool content and features we have in the pipeline. This is an evolution of the IP that lays the foundation for what's to come."
Better Supergroup bases, which acts as the home of a guild, along with improved raids - presumably to spice up guild on guild action. An offline character reward system as well as a Mission Maker are also said to be in the pipeline for this new merged universe.
