Stardock has announced the sequel to their 2008 US election game, The Political Machine 2012, in which you take on the role of a real-life politician such as Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, or a customized one and go on the stump and try to win the Presidency of the United States.
The 2012 edition of The Political Machine features updated national hot button issues, including Afghanistan, the economy, Obamacare, income inequality, gay rights, and the national debt, as well as smaller, regional issues like “right to work”, state minimum wage, local environmental policies, and farm subsidies. Players must be careful not to alienate the voting public by either seeming like a demagogue or flip-flopping on issues.
The 2012 version also features a new user interface and graphical improvements, with a new updating mechanic that will keep the game up to date as the real-life campaign continues.
The Political Machine 2012 will be released via digital distribution for $9.95 USD.
