Avalanche states next Just Cause perfect for next gen consoles

Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios thinks that the next game in the Just Cause series would be "perfect" for the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4. Just Cause 3 is rumored to be in development, though it wouldn't be released in 2012.


According to Avalanche's Christofer Sundberg in an interview with Eurogamer: "There is a very strong emotional attachment to the franchise as it was created by me and my design team here so we would obviously like to see a very bright future for Just Cause. In this day and age when everyone is struggling to make money, my opinion is that the JC IP is perfect for everything that next-gen has to offer."

Avalanche will be revealing one of the three games it has in development at E3 2012. Sundberg was coy about what games the developer was working on, hinting, "As we've said before they are two pretty damn cool and big licenses which we have chosen to work on just because they allow us to create two new open-world/sandbox experiences in worlds where we've seen a lack of features that Avalanche Studios has to offer."

Avalanche's most recent release, Renegade Ops, was released in September 2011 and earned an 8.0/10 score in Strategy Informer's review.

I hope they will make more changes inteh gameplay. Just Cause 2 was for for 20 hours - after that you had done everything and seen everything. The game mechanics were fun but very oh and ah in the beginning and then after a time you realised that the AI and game behaved exactly the same depending on 1 of 3 scenarios and locations. The storyline became the only reason to finish the game since that gave some challenges.

Also, the PC controls suffered especially with the vehicles. Plugging in a controller to use with driving didn't work too good since the controller got into an argument with the mouse keyboard so - for nr 3 - more polished and more difference to make it fun to explore.
