US media research group Nielsen is reporting that the most anticipated games for American gamers were Assassin's Creed 3 and Halo 4. Other games hotly anticipated include Madden NFL 13 and Resident Evil 6.

For Xbox 60 users polled, Halo 4 was cited by 98% of the gamers as a game they were interested in, followed by Assassin's Creed 3 at 94% and Max Payne 3 at 91%. Madden NFL 13 was next at 90%, and trailed by Resident Evil 6 and Ghost: Recon Future Soldier at 89 and 85 percent respectively.

PlayStation 3 users cited Assassin's Creed 3 as their most anticipated title at 98%, followed by Max Payne 3 (96%), Madden NFL 13 (96%), Resident Evil 6 (94%) and Medal of Honor: Warfighter (87%).

Unsurprisingly, sequels dominated the lists, and aside from the games noted above, other games that were cited as games they were interested in included the Tomb Raider remake, BioShock Infinite and NCAA Football 13.
