Game director Eiichiro Sasaki of Capcom's Resident Evil 6 notes that while each of the three character campaigns on their own are "a little bit less" than RE5, together they're quite the journey.
Overall RE6 is "much longer" than its predecessor, teased Sasaki-san at Capcom's Captivate event. While standalone each story experience a "certain level of overlap" with others.
Fans can expect to pour around 30 hours of their life into Resident Evil 6. Eiichiro Sasaki also admits he's big fan of The Walking Dead and EA's Dead Space.
"The three characters each have their own story and you can choose whichever one you want and play that story, experience that character’s story," the game director told .
"In terms of length, each character’s story is a little bit less than RE5 but when you combine them together you’re getting something that is much longer. While each character’s story stands alone, all of the characters wind up in the same area of the game, in China, so there is a certain level of overlap."
"They stand on their own but they do overlap in certain areas. You don’t have to play them all, of course."
Resident Evil 6 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC October 2nd. A demo will be available via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network September 5th, with 60 days early access to Xbox 360 owners of Dragon's Dogma.
