Those Reapers are at it again! The latest update from BioWare for the console version of Mass Effect 3 is causing the game to crash when loading up - mostly on Xbox 360.

The issue has hit some PS3 owners. The 4MB patch can cause the main menu not to load, an endless load cycle trying to reach EA servers or just crash the console entirely.

The development team is "aware of issues" plaguing the community after the patch when live alongside the multiplayer Resurgence DLC. Fans are self prescribing fixes.

Firing up Mass Effect 3 when not connected to Xbox Live has let some people into the game, while others say clearing the console system's cache helps, swapping game discs and general sheer determination have brute forced the game into working. It seems to fall to 'pot luck' as some just can't do anything.

This update targeted the import face problems for Xbox 360 and PS3.

I was starting to think that it was just DICE who put out patches that do more harm than good but I guess it's all of EA!

I seem to be able to get in fine now though, it was just the first few attempts that didn't work (server stress, perhaps?).

Why? Do you enjoy gamers not being able to play?

No, I just enjoy PC's indisputable superiority. :)
