Rumor: Rune sequel teased by Human Head
Posted: 15.04.2012 17:19 by Comments: 6
Human Head was allegedly forced to cancel their ambitious Prey 2, which would have set the game in a Blade Runner-ish alien space station. However, they've now started teasing the development of a sequel to their 2000 third person action title Rune. The developer at the time was a part of the infamous Gathering of Developers.

The developer recently posted a Rune Facebook page, showing off the older game's art assets and such.

The developer seemed to tire of teasing a Rune 2 when, finally, Human Head posted a note, "We are considering a sequel to the cult hit classic Rune!"

The game received a 76 Metacritic score on its release in November 2000.

Thank you Jonah, but the article is about a rumor. Has this been confirmed yet or what?

ZeniMax refuses to comment. All signs point to "postponed indefinitely".

Such a shame. I was really looking forward for Prey 2.

If I remember correctly Rune was playable until you came to a certain point when you just died all the time and so did the interest to play on.
Still the concept is pretty nice and if making a Viking saga again - please skip the horns on the helmet! Vikings knew better than to give the enemies something to help them twist your neck with!
