Baldur's Gate Enhanced raises level cap, no Wii U, party limited at 6

The guys over at Beamdog have answered some fan questions about the upcoming Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. There will be a higher level cap coded into the game.

A bad time with Nintendo means no Wii U. A boxed copy is possible to compliment the digital launch. There's plenty of language localisation going on. No more than 6 to a party.

These juicy scraps of Baldur's Gate meat were thrown out by Beamdog's president of publishing. Enemy AI will remain a pain in your PC RPG rear even with the new content.

There's to be greater voice talent for the new planned content. Jim Cummings will return to voice Minsc if they're given new lines. Mod support is improved although updates for BGEE will be slower than originally thought by Beamdog. No they won't be doing an enhanced Ultima, and it would take heavy effort for Baldur's Gate 3.

The Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition codebase could be used on Icewind Dale if BGEE is a success. It doesn't seem there'll be any love for Nintendo anytime soon: "The result is a belief that Nintendo isn't a good platform for developers. The Wii is a toy, not a console," twittered Beamdog president, Trent Oster, on their experience with them.

I am quite curious to see how this game is going to be with the Enhanced Edition. I might even start playing this game if it interests me enough.

I never played the original, so I think this is right up my alley. I can play the game without having to wrestle the spirits of antiquity for it :D
