Doesn't work. First the installer didn't want to start until I switched it to compatibility mode "WinXP SP3" and now when I try to log-in, all I get is "3003" error.

Doesn't work for me either, something about not having a battle tag even though I have already created it.

Haha djole....Blizzard for the win.
Anyone see an epic fail launch looming?

I will try this, and see if I can't get it working.

I didn't want to play a beta, but I would actually like to see the game in action... just for at least a few levels.

I've been playing a while, and it's got me hooked. It's the same feeling as in Diablo 2, and it's just as ridiculously awesome to summon fifty icky minions with the witch doctor as it was with the druid in D2. I wasn't really excited about this, now I surely am :D

Finally got the damn thing to work. I was only able to log in after I switched from European to American servers. The game looks mighty impressive so far and it's really fun, but I won't be buying it at launch. Instead, I'll wait for a couple of months before the devs iron out any bugs etc...

How do you switch servers?

At the log in screen go to options > account and there you'll see an option for the servers.

Well, I downloaded this for the free weekend to see if it was worth the always on-line thing, the dummed down level up mechanics - and so far I can only say that if this is a taste of what is coming - I'm glad I haven't pre-ordered it. I haven't been able to play a second yet due to failing servers.

Sure - it is a stress test and all - but I would expect to be able to play at least a few minutes for the GB's downloaded...

I uninstalled it, I'm not gonna bother with it any more it simply doesn't let me in no matter what server i try.

Well the only servers open so far are the Americans, so idea trying elsewhere - but those where down for maintenance last I tried, some 20 minutes or so ago. During the day I got the "Server busy - try later" all the time.

OK - servers back online - error 37 servers busy...

Gah what bull... "Always online games offer enough to be worth it" my old Keytronic sweaty leyboard and coffee stains...

I kept getting an error about not having a battletag, which i do have. I don't know what the problem was but I give up, I'll just wait for the trial version.

Once more, I fear for the final release.

Don't worry, they'll just postpone it another year if there are problems ;)

Well i have been playing it for a while and while it`s a lot of fun there`s also quite a few problems.The one i have the biggest issue is,since there`s no other way to put it,LAG.Yes lag in a single player game.I have no idea what the hell Blizzard are thinking,there will be tons of problems at launch because of this.Oh and i forgot to mention the fact that connecting to the game is a serious pain.

I tried installing the damn beta yesterday, but with no success. It just keeps on saying "Updating Setup Files". And so I got annoyed, and decided to wait for May.

@ViGotH
Try running the installer in compatibility mode with "Windows XP SP3" and also running it as administrator. That helped me. Also, if you're using Windows 7, find a folder called ProgramData (usually C:\ProgramData but it's hidden) and delete Battle.net folder inside it and then restart your computer and try the installer again in compatibility mode. If you manage to install the game be sure to run Diabloiii.exe in compatibility mode as well.

@djole381
Thank you very much for the reply. I will see what I can do, as I tried the compatibility mode thing, but I will try this again.

Don't forget to run it as administrator as well. The way Diablo 3 beta is now, you need a PhD in Quantum Physics just to get the damn thing running.

Same problem... I'll just wait for the game to be released then. I am confident that the game is great, I just need to be a bit more patient now.

Well I got to beaten the Skeleton king at least once - as a Barbarian. And while I think that the game was pretty OK - there are also a lot of concerns. I still think the game will be a game to buy - but I don't think it is a worthy follow up on Diablo or Diablo 2 - sadly.

If you like I put some impressions here: http://goo.gl/bjEE9

I remember when people said the same thing about Diablo II. :p

The changes between Diablo and Diablo 2 is far less on the removed features than from Diablo 2 to 3...

Well I look forwrad to the reviews. I have not pre-ordeerd and have no intention of buying on launch day. Have a feeling there will be much polarising of gamers with this release, much like "DoW II". While I trusted Relic with their franchise, I don't trust Blizzard. They have gone way overboard with development time, and if there any other company I would put it down to bad management, poor development skills sets and inability to keep to deadlines. As it is, Blizzard's reputation ain't what it used to be anyway.
Keep up with this slow relase svhedule for future titles and it may be the end for this once venerable publisher/developer.

Well I have now killed the Skeleton King four times; as a barbarina, demon hunter, Sorcerer and monk.
So far - the game is a bit up and down. It is still a positive and comparing it with Dungeon Siege 3 - it is still so much more satisfying to kill and loot stuff. Still, a bit of lag and also the ugly reality of how quick you can be without a game should internet fail you or a server fail you. All for the auction house option...
