Some new job posts are open at Sony Santa Monica and their 'Qualifications' section reveal an interesting few teases on a new project at the Sony developer, responsible for God of War.

A 'Senior Combat Designer' and 'Level Designer' are advertised and the first mentions someone with experience with 1st or 3rd person shooters and "vehicle combat" would be a plus.

Are the Santa Monica crew looking to put together an open world action game? Possibly, if the experience with those types of things as "a plus", is any indication.

The two jobs posts were found on Gamasutra, thanks to NeoGAF.

The following were bulleted under Senior Combat Designer:

• Experience working with, developing or designing for a 1st and/or 3rd person shooter genre a plus.
• Experience working with, developing or designing vehicle combat in a game also a plus.

Level Designer:

• Experience in designing or contributing to the development of an "open world" game is a plus.

A first/third person shooter with vehicle combat in an open world? That's id Software's RAGE isn't it? Will Sony be introducing an all-new IP or turning to something already in their closet?
