Console versions of Risen 2 delayed again

Deep Silver has announced that Piranha Bytes' open world roleplaying game, Risen 2: Dark Waters, has been delayed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will now be released on consoles on the 31st July.

However, the delay will allow the game to include an extra episode called "The Air Temple", which will reportedly add several additional hours of gameplay.

The PC version is due to be released this week on the 27th April via digital distribution.

Better a delay than a broken release. Finally a new game from the true developers of Gothic.

The thing is...its not a Gothic setting anymore...I like middle ages and such with RPG..but this..seems to me a bit not my cup of tea.

It's not so much about the setting for me but the gameplay. As long as the game feels similar to how the Gothic games felt then i won't complain.

Well I like such gameplay as well as the early gunpowder setting, so I'm certainly not complaining :P

You mean the fact that it appears to be clipping a touch?

I mean the fact, that gun is between the legs, in a very sensitive area ^^ He's definitely don't want to have children :)

Yeah, I view this as good news. I doubt they want a repeat of what happened with the Console-port of the first game, so provided this makes it better, I'm all for it.

It's also refreshing to see the reverse for a change. You see so many devs focusing on the console release, with the PC release coming much later in the year.

As long as the delayed release for console does not mean that the consoles will receive more attention post-release than the PC version (as is the case with the PS3 version of "BF3").

Well, reading some of the complaints over at forums and metacritic doesn't really make me want to strike a swaggers pose and go "Ahoy mate" and starboard land-baster you skullywags - or whatever really. It simply makes me think harder on the list of games not finished yet at home...
