Nothing to argue against here :)

Except maybe one more obvious thing, the ending. Don't make it to completely suck.

I really don't think they'll make the same mistake again :P They'll obviously defend their product now, but the execs can't be happy about all the negative advertising.

EA didn't get to be so successful by getting stuck in their ways. I know they realise that quality is in their best interest, especially at this stage. If they squeeze another rushed game out of Bioware...well that's a pretty damaging blow. Especially with all the potential for Dragon Age spin offs.

It's sad that EA managed to put Bioware in such a position within the time frame of only two games, they went from the company that can't do wrong to a company that needs to prove that they don't suck anymore.

Now as a result, my hopes for the new CnC being good are quite low as well.

DA2 was a big disappointment. No argument there. I was a software developer for about 40 years so I think I know what happened. EA management has a bunch of MBAs in charge. They know how to do construction or manufacturing but they have no conception of how to do R&D - and that's exactly what software is. It grows of its own accord. You can't slavishly enforce PERT charts and schedules. That's like insisting the walls go up before the cement in the foundation dries. The managers get an attaboy for meeting schedule and the roof caves in.

EA and BioWare are bad duo. So do not expect much from them. Remember the good old days when BW was making very cool and best RPG's...its in the past now...just face it and let it go. Nowadays is Bethesda and CDProject are rulers of RPG's.

"What epic sci-fi sparked the same interest? Star Wars, which shouldn’t really count anymore."

Avatar. Also The Hunger Games (which has outgrossed all but one of the LOTR movies and will probably pass ROTK this weekend).

Also, Revenge of the Sith was released in 2005 and grossed more than any of the LOTR movies. I'm all about ragging on the prequels, but I'm not clear why Star Wars "shouldn't count any more".

I wouldn't call the Hunger Games epic...

Avatar? An epic sci-fi? Hardly :/

And obviously he discounted the prequels cause that's what you're supposed to do :)

I haven't read nor seen anything hunger game related, as far as I can tell it's pretty overhyped though.

"I'm all about ragging on the prequels, but I'm not clear why Star Wars "shouldn't count any more"."

Mostly because it's too obvious, and Bioware have already done it twice. And sorry, I meant epic sci-fi SERIES.
