Rumor: Microsoft to bring Kinect-enabled Internet Explorer 9 to next Dashboard update

The Verge is claiming that Microsoft is developing a modified version of Internet Explorer 9 for the Xbox Live Dashboard that will utilize Kinect. The Dashboard already features Bing, but the Xbox 360 version of IE9 would allow users to web browse with Kinect.

This version of IE9 will allegedly work in the same fashion as Bing: users can speak aloud a word or phrase and the browser will automatically search for it, while hand gestures can function as a virtual mouse.

However, Xbox Live IE9 will allow users to browse without Kinect, which seems to imply that they will be able to browse via the chatpad or even the software keyboard.

The chief question is, of course, what sort of firewalls the Explorer app will have to prevent piracy or virus infection if the rumor is true.

The rumor goes on to say that Microsoft will debut the Xbox 360 Internet Explorer 9 app at E3, presumably during the Microsoft E3 Conference.

I am now at the point where I am hating every second I spend with IE, even though I am using it as IE8 is the only browser left that still uses Google Toolbar (even though it throws up enless script and certificate errors). Once Google Chrome gets off it's arse and implements a new version of it's own bloody toolbar I'll cease using it altogether.

I hate IE with a passion, but I'm just glad the 360 is getting a browser.

I'm not using Firefox anymore. Chrome is standard browser and latest IE 9 for some pages that requires it. Even using Chrome beta on my android phone...
IE9 is ok, but the plentiful settings is a wee bit annoying...
