Tripwire Interactive has announced a Game of the Year Edition of Red Orchestra 2, which will include a new map, new game modes and new features. Players who already own Red Orchestra 2 need not feel left out: the GOTY Edition Free Content Pack will download automatically for all gamers who already own it.


The Game of the Year Edition includes:

* "Action" mode - Featuring a crosshair, easier aiming and toned down recoil, reduced damage and open access to a wide range of weaponry Action mode is the perfect first step for players into the world of Red Orchestra.
* "Classic" mode blends the gameplay innovations of the new game with the tactical and edgy gameplay of the original giving the fans of the first game exactly what they want.
* Mamayev Kurgan - complete new map, featuring both close-quarters battles in trenches and bunkers, as well as longer ranged combat across the famous hill in Stalingrad
* Refined and improved gameplay across the board, vehicle improvements, and way better performance and polish.

If that weren't enough, there will be a Free Weekend trial of Red Orchestra 2 on Steam for anyone who wants to see what the game is like. The Free Weekend begins on the 24th May, 10:00AM PST (6:00PM GMT).

The GOTY Edition Content Pack will be released before the Free Weekend begins.
