We can all rest easy in the knowledge that should some cataclysm forsake us then humanity could soon be brought back with the blood sequencing of MMO gamers.
Richard Garriott, creator of Ultima and Tabula Rasa is venturing into space and will take the "digitized" DNA with him for storage. Will you join 'Operation Immortality' gamer?
The chance to actually have your DNA taken is only available to active players of Tabula Rasa but anyway can join in the proceedings.
"I've been able to do some very exciting things in the games business, but nothing of this magnitude," said Garriott. "A select few will have their DNA digitized and sent. And, theoretically, if anything happens to the human race, it could be their DNA that is used to resurrect humanity."
NCsoft have launched which details everything you need to know about contributing toward humanities "save game". Head over there now to save our species from extinction, or from missing the chance to brag at the galaxies expense.
