Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning UK sales spike after studio closure

The closure of 38 Studios and Big Huge Games seems to have caused a spike in sales of the developers' action-RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, at least in the UK.

The Top 40 UK chart showed Amalur hitting the 26th spot, after having falling off the top 40 in the past two months.

The sales are probably attributable in equal parts of curiosity for the title, which received generally positive reviews, and support for the developers, who were shut down by the state of Rhode Island.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was released last February 2012, and earned an 8.0/10 score from Strategy Informer's review.

Who actually gets the money now if the studio is closed?
Does "supporting the devs" even make any sense in this case?

Doesn't the publisher get the money regardless?

EA gets the money, then pays the devs their royalties. Keep in mind, Rhode Island must pay the workers lost wages.

I was just wondering if the devs even get anything at all now that the studio is closed or it all goes to EA. As long as they get their share then this is all good.
