Paradox Interactive has revealed the first downloadable content for Crusader Kings II, which will be named Sword of Islam and allows players to play as Muslim lords.

Sword of Islam will launch at the same time as the next patch, which offers an expansion of the map into Mali-Songhay, differentiation on strong and weak claims, new plot, expanded combat and more.

Priced at $9.99, the DLC is said to offer a whole new gameplay experience. Laws, marriage, holding, traits , titles and more will work completely differently.

Crusader Kings II: Sword of Islam and patch 1.06 are scheduled to release in June 2012.

Just got the Paradox newsletter with this. No, it's no big surprise but it's still accompanied by some good screenies and interviews. Good price point too.

Yea, this was hardly a surprise :).

For some reason I still can't get into this game, I gave it a go after winning it in the competition but apparently it's just not my thing.

The games that take more veffort, sweat and endurance to get into, are generally the games we end up playing the longest, noccy. The others we love immediatly are generally gone off our HDD's within a year at most. Leave it installed and come back to it when you feel you can put some time in (as I am doing). If you enjoy the period in history, one day it will click.
...or not, in which case ignore what I said:)
