Not sure how the fear factor will hold up with co-op based combat. Don't forget that FEAR tried that in its most recent installment. Co-op Dead Space sounds like a detour towards Resident Evil 5: mutant baddies to take down with a wit-spitting side kick to help you. I guess we'll have to wait and see, though.

I also think that the game will loose it's fear factor... but it will sure make the game a whole lot of fun to play.

We will just have to wait and see.

Degradation of series in progress. EA main policy. I couldn't finish DS 2 cuz I disappointed in it. Remember the 1st Dead Space..that was a new experience for me...the second, just plain copy-paste from first game, that feeling just forced me to abandon the game, maybe it was related with, that another studio was workin on it, who knows.

P.S. Co-op hysteria drives me crazy. "Co-op is cool, makes the game better and more fun!" What?!?! Co-op is a good addition for certain games, but not for all..I hate seeing that almost all new games that have co-op gathers gamers who thinks that co-op is "cool"...gosh, what happened with game industry and gamers...

P.S.S. Bout survival Horror genre. The only co-op thing that was a successful addition, was in Dead Island, cuz main fear factor wasn't just a dark corridors and some classic jump from the corner Necromorth. It was mostly a day light but still, whole atmosphere do it's job. E.g. when U hear the scream of bad and big zombie from afar...damn, when I heard that in first time I almost got my pants wet :) Almost ")

You've got a point Chosen_One. Not all games should have a Co-Op feature, especially most of the survival horror games, since it actually ruins the horror factor.

I also agree that Dead Space 2 wasn't quite new. Sure you had some scary scenes, but basically it was a copy of Dead Space 1. Yes, I know that it is the same title, and the story is suppose to follow, but none the less, very few things felt different.... of course other than the fact that your mouse feels a whole lot better to use.

It will sell, and that's the bottom line for EA (not if the game is actually any good - "Dragon Age 2" and "Crysis 2" kinda proved that point).
I just looked forward to the Anime mini feature that will accompany it.

Play it in 3d anaglyph on a 4 m LCD projector and it will be the best you have ever seen Dead Space 1 or 2!
