Sega has announced that popular NASCAR driver Danica Patrick will be testing her racing skills against a blue hedgehog, among others, in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed. The game will pit her against Sonic, Knuckles, AiAi and others.


Patrick was more than pleased to be starring in a videogame with Sonic the Hedgehog, beaming, “It’s a very exciting experience since I’ll be sharing the screen with such an iconic character. I cannot wait for gamers to jump into my customized, transformable vehicles and give Sonic a run for his rings this holiday season!”

Patrick will be racing in a custom Sonic the Hedgehog Chevrolet with Patrick's trademark #7 on the 3rd November at the Texas Motor Speedway. The car is currently being shown off at E3 2012 in Los Angeles.

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed will be released Holiday 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, among other platforms.
