Bethesda let E3 attendees experience DOOM: BFG Edition via a virtual reality headset.
Most of those who have used the tech have provided rave reviews on the makeshift product.
John Carmack said the kit reuses programming from his aerospace company, Armadillo. Players still have to utilise a controller, as the set tracks head movements only. It's thrown together from a ski mask and duct tape, and wasn't invented completely by Carmack himself.
The VR headset probably won't be landing in your local store soon, but could be available for around $500 if big-spenders want it.
