Overkill has announced in their blog that Sony Online Entertainment will not be publishing Payday: The Heist 2. Instead, 505 Games will be backing the game.

In the post, the developer announced:

To our fans of PAYDAY:

Players will be psyched to know that publisher 505 Games have joined the PAYDAY crew! We know we found the best partner period.

This new co-operation lets us be OVERKILL and lets us develop the PAYDAY franchise in new fantastic directions long term. With the support and skill of 505 Games we are going to pull off heists on a scale never seen before!

In the words of Dallas: Let’s do this!

Could this mean that Payday: The Heist 2 will be hitting the Xbox 360, since Sony is no longer publishing the game? Stay tuned.

I'm only waiting on a decent sale on Steam to get the first four pack :)

The first one didn't get too many critics to even say a little forced yeahy - not even the ones usually giving even crappy games higher grades so the game has to land and show something great...

As long it's cheap enough I'll deal with it, i just care for the co-op in this case.

...and that's my issue with the game, my own personal one (shared by we silent few). It is Co-Op, and like "Magicka" this would not be such a bad thing if when playing as SP your AI "team" behaved well. "L4D 1&2" managed to achieve a brilliant SP experience for what are essentially Co-Op games, but they seem to be the exception.
Overall though, leaving aside hardcore fanbots of the game (that would remain true to it even if the game imploded and set their PC alight) it turned out to be a pretty average game at best, and still pretty bug-ridden.
I'll tell you what Noccy. If a 4 Pack deal does come up at a good price, let me know and I'll buy in.

I get your pain and I love good SP games as well, actually they are still my preferred experience.
To me co-op is simply a nice midway between MP(pvp) and SP(pve) games that allows you to play with your buddies without any random trolls or griefers.

Let's hope the 4th of July sale will be great, I'm mainly hoping for Trine 2 75% off, Payday is a bit lower on the list :).

Bugger the 4th July. Today is The Queen's Silver Jubilee Public Holiday - where are the Sales? Just because the US wishes they had a monarchy (and they do, for the revenue it would bring) they make everyone else suffer by having no Sales. I'm no supporter of the Monarchy and am a staunch Republican but c'mon....

I agree, but their company their rules. I'm just happy that we get huge sales two times a year, any more (so big ones) would probably be too much too ask.
