NeverSoft have "molded our team" for Call of Duty

The Call of Duty franchise has a new development studio adding to its roster as Tony Hawk's NeverSoft have a "crack squad of eager" devs now assigned to the first-person genre.

The studio made the announcement on its website but didn't specify if they'd be in a support role or if they'd get to create their own project within the series. What about that space rumour?

It was said that NeverSoft had a sci-fi first-person shooter in the works and at the time was coined as Call of Duty in Space by some circles. Still they could be helping Treyarch.

"We have molded our team into a crack squad of eager developers ready to push the First Person Action genre in support of Activision's Call of Duty franchise," said a studio statement. The next instalment to the series is Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 from Treyarch and it's certainly classified as sci-fi with its fancy remote drone armada.

Could NeverSoft's sci-fi shooter have been Black Ops 2 all along?

Looks ike everyone under Acti's umbrella is having a go at this joke of a franchise. Only the joke is on us, and the money just keeps pouring in. What will happen when Vivendi offload them I wonder.

Poor old Neversoft. They always get on the ride just as it's about to crash. If they genuinely are making their own COD then that could be the straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm personally just sad that Raven are being forced to work on just map packs.
