Blizzard reveals Heart of the Swarm is 99% complete

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm lead designer Dustin Browder has revealed that the Starcraft II expansion is 99% complete, though he admits that the remaining development is "a bitch", dealing mostly with tuning and polish.

According to Browder, “There’s something in for everything—it’s whether we like it or not that’s an open question. It’s the tuning and polish that really takes us a long time, and that’s where we get into the unknowns.

“Like we could do a play-through next week that we’re like, ‘Wow this is really great.’ Or we could do a play-through and we still have 250 items we wanna fix. You know, historically speaking we’re doing pretty well. We’re getting there. But I don’t know for sure yet when we’ll be done.”

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty was released on the 27th July, 2010.

Excelent, now we only have to wait 8 more years until it`s released :))))
*edit* BLIZZARD!!!!!!*edit*!!!!!!!!
Sorry about that,i seem to have lost my mind when i remembered that one of my (formerly) favorite companies who has always put pc on first place has now shown us that it only cares about our money, case in point Diablo 3.
Btw i heard that the real money auction house was banned in Korea, oooohh i can`t imagine blizzard`s reaction when they heard this but any i do hope they got injured both physically and mentally due to rage when they realized the crap that is known as D3 will not make as much money as they wanted.

They've known about it being banned in Korea for a long time, they never launched it there. :P

I don't know why but I was pretty much certain that the SC2 releases would be annual, boy was I naive :).

Just release the damn thing, Blizz. Bugger your spit and polish. They just do not know when to call it quits on a product and boot the baby out the bath water. Some call it QA, but I call it anally-retentive OCD.

@danfreeman
Sorry mate, had to edit the expletives, young 'uns and all.

I also thought that it would be an annual release thing... pity, but oh well.

Sorry mate, it's 2am and I haven't got my glasses on. Have amended the post:)

Vet, it's more than a pity as this would have been a financial boon for the company (Activision Blizzard), just when Vivendi are trying to offload them - "SC II: HotS" in August and "CoD: BlOps 2" in November. Booyah!
If/when the Vivendi sell them off the new owners may just be sticking a rather sharpened steel-capped boot up Blizzard's collective arses for future releases. Aside from "WoW" subscriptions, they contribute very little to the annual fiscal statement for shareholders. How much longer gamers are willing to put up with Blizzard's snail pace delivery system also remains to be seen. We should also have "Warcraft 4" by now and looking forward to it's expansion.
I'm afraid I'll be saving my cash for "Company of Heroes 2", as frankly I can depend on Relic for a timely quality release. They don't mess around; just get it done, and done well then ship to the customer. Blizzard's Devs must have missed that class at college....too busy shining their shoes most likely:)

That is quite a thing that disappoints me... is there even going to be a Warcraft IV or did World of Warcraft ruin everything?

Though I am a fan of Blizzard, I am not a major fan of World of Warcraft (nothing against the game I just don't like MMORPG's that much). The short while I played the game, I didn't feel much of the story, because all of the quests tend to be exactly the same over, and over again.

I would really like it if there could be a Warcraft IV, but I am sure that we will have to wait again for many-many years to pass (no offense Blizzard)

Somehow I think there will be many changes made to Activision Blizzard when Vivend sell it off, and perhaps even without that now that "CoD" really is reaching the end of it's run (believe it or don't). Activision being the senior partner might just have more of a say in the release schedule of Blizzard. A good mix-up between the two is long overdue.
