Ubisoft forums ablaze with complaints about PC version of Future Soldier

It seems that the PC version of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, which was just released yesterday in North America along with a 385MB day one patch, is a buggy mess even after the patch is applied. Users have been glomming the official forum bug report thread non-stop since its release.


Complaints include the game not recognizing the mouse, the game resolution being stuck at 720p or worse, framerate issues, key bindings not saving or being out of whack, sound issues, online dropouts, and general accusations of the game being a console port.

Moderator Ubi_Antoine reassured in the thread that "the team continues to work hard, improving the game experience, supporting the title and listening to the feedback. There are multiple updates planned over the life of the game."

Future Soldier is due to be released for PC worldwide on the 29th June. Caveat emptor.

That it's a console port isn't surprising, despite the extra effort that's been put into the two previous "GRAW"'s, but that it's in such a shocking state does - kind of. Ubisoft's treament (mistreatment?) of PC titles has been long established now and this is just one more franchise for me that they have ruined.

In other words, don't expect the game to be fixed any time soon (this happened with "IL2: CoD").

Wow how can they release it in such a buggy state?I haven`t bought it yet and thank God i didn`t,ubi really is getting worse than ea,friggin ea.

I'm kinda surprised that they don't want to learn to treat PC gamers better, one day they'll lose even their last user and then it's gonna be too late.

I'm kinda glad that UbiSoft didn't disappointed me - I am pretty much decided not to buy anything from Ubisoft since I think they suck - totally - on so many levels and the contempt they show for the PC gamers just made my point even more firm.

I'm actually more surprised that there are PC gamers STILL buying UbiSoft games at all... Outrageous!

Every complaint on the Forums elicits five fanboy attacks claiming the PC version is near perfect. Other more sensible responses list only one or two problems, but I'd be more inclined to believe the majoity do have these 'gamebreakers'. I haven't bought a Ubisoft title since I was burned with "IL2: Cliffs of Dover" though I should have learnt after "Silent Hunter 5". "RUSE" was fine, though.
