Vostok Games posts second dev diary on Survarium

The folks at Vostok Games, formerly of GSC Game World, have posted their second official developer diary. The diary discusses their most recent progress on their free-to-play open world shooter Survarium, including updates on the storyline, atmosphere, game character and the planned in-game playable modes.

Most importantly, the diary shows off some of the environmental tech in action, and for what is probably an alpha build, it looks very impressive.

Check out the dev diary in the video below.

I swear the more i hear of this the more i love it despite it being an mmo,but will somebody please pick up stalker 2 and finish it?
To see the stalker franchise end is really a shame, the games were a genre of their own,the setting they had and take on it was unique, the world was interesting and full of stuff, they were a masterpiece in my opinion.

Survarium IS Stalker 2, actually. Making it a FTP title makes it less expensive to produce.

Jonah not quite,it has elements from the stalker universe but it`s an mmo,i`m sure it`ll be very similar, but an sp game is one thing and an mmo is another.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are also some of my favourites, so Survarium is going to be great. I am not a fan of MMO games, but I will make an exception for this one.

A STALKER-themed MMO...I will at least have to try it out. MMORPG's are great fun, not all but the few I've tried have been until you need a break. That's where the free model comes into play when structured well (ie. minimal microtransactions, and never 'required'), as there is no financial cost and, if implemented properly, never will be.
