Developer thechineseroom reveals that Amnesia sequel A Machine for Pigs won't be releasing this year but will land later in 2013. It was originally scheduled for Halloween in October.

Quality is the "absolute first, last, and always" with the team's work on Amnesia, and they wanted a few more months to work on it. Sorry there'll be no scares from the team this year.

"The quality of the game is the absolute first, last, and always with this development, and we felt it could do with a few more months’ work to make sure that’s really going to happen,” said Dan Pinchbeck.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs releases on PC, Mac and Linux (eww) in Q1 2013. Check out a full interview between creative director Dan Pinchbeck and GameZone discussing Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and Amnesia.

Pity that it won't be released this year... I was actually looking forward to it, but none the less, I am glad to hear that they want to put a lot of effort into making it a great and scary game.
