Volition still attacking ATI stuttering issues in Saints Row: The Third PC

Don't worry, PC users. Volition hasn't forgotten you, as the developer is still working hard on solving the shuttering issues associated with the PC version of Saints Row: The Third. The game suffers severe performance issues for players who own ATI 5000/6000 cards.

Other PC issues have been solved with recent updates, however.

According to the developer in the official forum, “Our team has provided multiple patches and updates attempting to correct this issue by adjusting key parts of Saints Row: The Third at the guidance of AMD/ATi, and they have shown mild improvement. Those with SLI no longer see micro-stuttering, and based on our performance tests, we’ve been able to increase overall performance."

“For those with affected cards, we’re still not up the level of quality we all expect from a Volition game, and we thank you for your patience as we work with AMD for a solution," the dev promised.

PC gamers can expect frequent updates in the next few weeks.

This is a long time to solve something like this, one would also expect ATi to step-in and help.

With AMD (ATI) cards more popular than ever, it amazes me that so many games (and I refer to many niche titles that don't see the public airing - "DCS:10C - Warthog" for one) still have problems with them.

Sorry, I have no sympathy - I'm an nVidia guy. :D
