Mad Catz announce Combat Pilot for PC

Multiplayer flight combat is coming to PC courtesy of peripheral manufacturer Mad Catz, who have announced Combat Pilot where sim enthusiasts can "train, fly, fight and interact together."

The game is developed by Mad Catz internal dev ThunderHawk Studios, and is based off Microsoft's Flight Simulator X. It's an "important destination" for flight sims.

Gamers must "qualify to earn their wings" before they're able to take to the skies with other players. It's their "proprietary, multiplayer engine" that sets it a part from other flight sim experiences.

"We believe that Combat Pilot will prove to be an important destination for the flight simulation community to gather, interact, and share experiences,” said Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. “Mad Catz’ Saitek™ brand and flight simulation is an important part of our company’s culture and Combat Pilot will allow the flight simulation community to come together and interact as never before.”

Combat Pilot releases on PC this summer. For more information check out the official website.

Probably a step highere than what I4m comfortable with, but Hero might just wet his pants with any luck.

He, he....no! This looks like it might be worth looking into as graphically it is similar to "DCS: A-10C Warthog", but couldn't be that complex. Based off "FSX" it should be as complicated or easy enough for most of us Sim Jockies to enjoy though my focus right now is on "DCS World" which will bring in all elements - ground, sea and air. You can link up the "DCS" titles you already own, and then as a tank commander in a pitched battle the player (you) calls for air support. You "receive" your own call through JSTARS and call in an A-10 for support. You then fly your A-10 (if you have that title linked) in to support the tanks - all in real time.
