Bethesda mum on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. acquisition rumor

A rumor claiming that Bethesda has acquired the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. license has resurfaced, as Ukrainian blogger Sergey Galyonkin claims a "very reliable source" told him that the studio had bought the IP.

According to the blogger, Bethesda got the rights to the videogame license, while GSC founder Sergei Grigorovich retained the rights to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. books, films, merchandise and "everything else".

Bethesda has dismissed the rumor, stating, "We don't comment on rumour or speculation."

Aww Hell! Not Bethesda, please not Bethesda. They ruined the "Fallout" franchise and now will do the same with this. The unique X-Ray engine replaced with shiny faces, floating Mammoths and generally ugly graphics - no thanks.

Or maybe not. Time will show. Bethesda had some nice games, though. Remeber the Dark Corners of the Earth? Playing it now (the vanilla version) and I'm not finding any bugs at all.
I wish we get a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, from any developer, on any engine. PC only, of course.

Groan - the possibility of it being multiplatform Gale is frightening as "Metro 2033" was not much fun at all.

I agree. Metro 2033 was a horrible game, gameplay wise. Not to mention pathetic optimization. A shame, really.

I also have to agree with this one. Though I enjoy playing Bethesda games, I don't see them working with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It just want be the same anymore, and also due to the fact that they ruined Fallout clarifies my statement.
