The long awaited patch to Metal Gear Solid 4 adding trophy support will be available over PlayStation Network August 6th. This feature comes four years after the Kojima game released.

Trophies became a mandatory mechanic for PS3 released titles shortly after Metal Gear Solid 4 debuted, meaning it escaped the new rules. MGS4 will also be fully installable.

Kojima Productions are developing Metal Gear Solid 5 and creator Hideo Kojima says they will showcase their new next-gen Fox Engine later in August.
