Sony Online boss John Smedley has confirmed that Planetside 2 will be coming to Steam for PC. The sci-fi MMO is a free-to-play sequel for PlayStation 3 and PC with its beta beginning today.

You can register for the beta program right now for those who want some pretty large scale battles with armoured vehicles, aircraft and plenty of boots on the ground. The original launched in '03.

"Planetside 2 will be on Steam. Yes it will," twittered John Smedley. Check out the official website if you want to sign up to the beta program. See the trailer below.
