Diablo III player nets over $10K at real-money Auction House

As expected, the real-money Auction House in Diablo III has been a windfall for some players, including Reddit user WishboneTheDog, who posted screen grabs of his transaction history and Paypal to prove his moneymaking prowess.

Aside from bragging, WishboneTheDog has also offered his analysis of Diablo III's population and economy. According to the blogger, the game's economy is rapidly slowing down, while players have stopped playing after they've completed the game.

He believes that once Blizzard updates the game with PvP, the economy will pick up again.

Blizzard gets a cut of all real-money Auction House sales, so it'll be interesting to see what the developer does to try to bolster sales, aside from adding PvP.

Huh? I'll sacrifice a little social life to make $10K on Diablo 3.

Who says he doesn't have a social life, dan? Just because he spends a lot of time infront of his computer it doesn't mean that he doesn't have a social life.

Arrecoolast clearly you haven`t played D 3 if you did you`d know what i mean, getting something good enough to sell for real money is very hard and tedious,so yeah i highly doubt he has a social life.

I have the collector's edition of Diablo 3, I have played it. But even though it can be hard and takes time to get a good item, you can still have a social life.

god making RL money of a games auction house is so wrong at many lvls for me not to mention the idea of a Real money auction house to start with...

Specially with pvp involved.

It might be wrong to get money this way, but something that you need to think about, these people still spend there time to find items so that they can sell it. Also, even if you have the best item, it doesn't mean that it will necessarily sell, it depends on how you work with them (price wise of course).

Where some people work eight hours a day to make money, some of these guys play a whole day so that they can sell their items. I don't think it is wrong, it is quite a good way of making money. That being said, not everyone knows how to work the auction houses so effectively that they make 10k from it.

The post about the social life... it all depends on the person. I play Diablo, and I have been a gamer my entire life, and still have a decent social life. Sure my social life isn't extreme, but that is due to me not doing anything about it, gaming is not to blame. Yes, the average hardcore gamers tend to be people staying at home, but once again, it depends on each person.
