World of Tanks' Update 8.0 introduces "improved graphic engine"

An aesthetic overhaul is inbound for World of Tanks as the studio are introducing an "improved game engine" alongside new content and new features for the MMO. No release date yet.

8.0 will include "realistic" movement physics for tanks, water splashes, and customization of emblems and inscriptions. There are 5 new Soviet tanks and new experimental British one.

It's a milestone update for the MMO from Wargaming.net. The studio has released a teaser trailer for Update 8.0 highlighting the changes en route. Changelog below:

•Realistic tank movement physics
• Splash and water wave effects
• Support for deferred shading
• Emblem and inscription customization
• Adaptive camouflage
• Mini-map functions
• Enchanced tech tree interface
• New Soviet tanks: SU-122-44, SU-122-54, SU-100M-1, Uralmash-1 and Object 263
• New British Matilda Black Prince experimental medium infantry tank

I stopped playing but if they keep improving on the main issues I might come back eventually.

Only way I'm ever coming back is if they make the game less grindy...and I honestly do not see that happening.

Why not buy a premium tank and a month of premium? Type 59 will be back in store at the end of the month and with premium account you'll be able to earn enough cash and XP for all your needs.

Because then Firstly I would have to actually buy a premium tank and a month of premium and secondly that would still mean I'm grinding away just to play, just a tier or two higher than I am at the moment.

It's really just turned grating for me, I shouldn't have to do this repetitive nonsense for hours and hours just to check out a new tank I MIGHT like. And then obviously a few more hours just to make this new tank actually not suck total monkey balls because the stock tanks come equipped with less performance than a Boeing 747 after it's been stripped of it's wings and set on fire.

Well it's pretty fun to play up to tier 8. You're still earning "some" credits and can have a blast. Tier 9 and 10 are simply overrated as we now have tier 10 meds and TD's which are overpowered. I had tier 10 IS-4 but stopped playing with it and sold it after loosing too many battles and credits. Now I'm focusing on tier 8 TD's and arty.

Never had any fun with this grindfest and elititist 'team' members (they were on my side but that was as far as teamwork went). I'll wait for "DCS: Combined Arms" for my tank fix.
