Alleged "Microsoft Xbox Durango Development Kit" sold on eBay for $20,100

After 43 bids a man's prototype of what he claims to be a "Microsoft Xbox Durango Development Kit" has sold for $20,100. It's only "one of two" he owns and didn't want the other as "a leg rest."

Going by the alias DaE, leaks of a supposed Kinect 2.0 spec came from him. There were 18 bidders totalling 43 bids and it quickly rose from $16,000 to $20,000 by the end. Who bought it?

More importantly is it genuine or a grand hoax? No pun intended. Perhaps Microsoft posed as the closing bidder to get their property back into safe proprietary hands?

"I sold one of two I own," DaE twittered. "I still have the one that featured in news, the other one wasn't really necessary to keep as a leg rest." The dev kit was supplied with "powercables, and a wired controller," says the eBay page. Would you want a peek inside an alleged Durango kit? The going rate is $20,000 it seems.

Just another publicity stunt...

Why, even if 20K was cash you'd spend on little lunch and the rig was the real deal would you bother? Unless you plan to rip the technology off, that is so fraught with real legal action there's no point.

Yes, but why? I know that hsitory is littered with technology theft (Japan in WWII, China today) and many of the motives, but why so openly sell/purchase on EBay? It's either fake or very, very daft.
