Wargaming.net has announced World of Tanks Generals, a browser-based MMO real-time strategy game incorporating collectible card gameplay.

World of Tanks Generals will be set during World War II, as players will take on the roles of the US, the U.S.S.R., France or Germany. They will have access to tanks, artillery and infantry as they research new technology to buy new tanks and units for more varied gameplay options. Both solo and multiplayer gameplay will allow players to take part in battles taken from historical events while fighting for dominance on a global map.

“The Wargaming universe is evolving onto new platforms,” Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi stated in the press release, ”World Of Tanks Generals will merge the worlds of tabletop and video games, featuring solid mechanics, strategic thinking and tactical twists in a fun, approachable way. It will feature the same great multiplayer tank warfare that Wargaming fans have come to love, just from an entirely new perspective.”

In a bit of crossplatform promotion, World of Tanks Generals will also be available as a card-based strategy board game.

I imagine the cards are like the ones in Age of Empires III.

I'm more interested in the board game, to tell the truth.

I just noticed they put the Belgian flag in....I don't think you need to use that as a gauge for what nations get put in :P

Never been into card-based strategy but it might be worth a look, being F2P as you say Jonah. Can't hurt.

these guys are getting ambitious :P not only are they making world of aircraft and world of warships but now a card game and still patching up the world of tanks they sure must have grown in a short period and their games are free which is nice too but the main bugger is the overly grinding part of their games in world of tanks im playing this one for like months(counting the time i didn't go on too) and i barely have Russian Tier 4 medium tank, tank destroyer a Tier 3 artillery and a german T3 tank destroyer

just now i got my Tank hunter experience of the Russian one to get the T5 but i still lack 250K credits... i doubt im gonna ace a lot of matches the few ones i do are good tho 15K credits but a meager 500 exp compared to the 12500 i needed to buy the tank tech for the one and the prequirements... still i hope im gonna have the SU-85 soon...

tho im not thinking at paying for this game tho maybe if i get lucky to get a free paysafecard from the pc gaming book i buy which it has a few times but not for just to have it im somewhere hoping to get a clan tho i notice clanboys seem to get their faster...

To be invited to a clan that would give you gold you'd unfortunately need to have T10 tanks.

Perhaps T9 would work in some cases too.
Unless they plan to have a separate clan wars map for lower tiers that's not going to change.
