Awesomenauts' new PC character for console "up to the publisher"

Developer Romino Games is bringing a new character along with Awesomenauts for PC, but console gamers could see them too however the decision rests with publisher DTP.

The studio is "all for it and ready to do it," said Jasper Koning, adding they've "no concrete plans right now" in motion. The cost of title updates on consoles pours ice water on the possibility.

It's not uncommon to see PC versions of digital releases spoilt for choice when it comes to new released content while console counterparts tend to be left starved by comparison.

"We're all for it and ready to do it," Koning told Joystiq, "but it's up to the publisher of the console version, DTP." Romino Games have "no concrete plans right now, but we're very hopeful." They may be hopeful but economics are not on their side especially for Xbox 360 as title updates aren't cheap.

Most recently XBLA's Fez has been denied a patch to resolve an issue that could corrupt saved games as the developer was unwilling to pay the rather high sum all for the sake of helping out a ludicrously small percentile of Fez gamers. Awesomenauts released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in May and on Steam August 1st.

I like this game.
Been playing it with my brother split screen since it's release, and it's good to see new chars coming so soon.
