Techland, the development studio behind the zombie RPG Dead Island, has announced Project Hell. The developer describes it as a "first person hack and slash" game, which will be using the Dead Island engine.

In fact, Project Hell began as a Dead Island mod developed in-house by Techland employee Marcin"MZM" Zygadlo.

"Our main goal is to make a game we can all enjoy playing so don't expect unicorns and fairies - we prefer breaking through hordes of undead minions only to slaughter their devilish and loathsome masters in a bloody boss-fight," stated designer and project manager Marcin "Kruq" Kruczkiewicz.

Techland is also very interested in user input into the creative process as well. "Everything posted here is work in progress which you can comment convincing us in our greatness or causing us to go home and rethink our lives. We will also ask for your help in making some decisions," requested Kruckiewicz.

Gamers can check out the official blog, which is ominously titled "Sharpen Your Axes", here.

This sounds quite interesting. Dead Island was great, so I am sure that this would be great as well.

Sharpen your blades and get ready to wipe the claret from your monitor screens. Could be good, but I've tought that of many titles in the last year until they release.
