Bethesda has announced what appears to be an Xbox 360 exclusive expansion to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, an add-on called Hearthfire. Simply put, the new expansion gives the dovahkiin a place to live.

The new add-on allows players to purchase land and build a home from the ground up, which can range from "a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more." The expansion adds all-new tools including a drafting table, a carpenter’s workbench, and other tools. Players can craft using quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings.

The expansion even allows players to adopt children, though this begs the question of why their PC can't make some the old-fashioned way.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Hearthfire will be available on the 4th September for 400 Microsoft Points.

I have to say that we PC gamers have mods and really don't need this kind of sh*t.
Still, I heavily disapprove this kind of microsoft-ass-kissing behaviour from Bethesda.
On the other hand, this is just a rumour and Heartfire will perhaps get released after some time on PC and PS3.

It seems like a cross between Minecraft and The Sims.
