Developer Unknown Worlds has announced on its official site that preorders for their sci-fi shooter (with real-time strategy elements) Natural Selection 2 are now available for purchase on Steam. The page lists an October 2012 release date as well.


There will be two version of Natural Selection 2 released post-launch. The standard edition will cost $24.99 USD, while the deluxe edition will cost $39.99 and include the following swag:T

* NS2 Official Soundtrack (almost 1 hour of music)
* Digital Art Book (40 pages)
* Exclusive wallpapers and avatars
* Exclusive new in-game marine armor

As a carrot, the deluxe edition will cost only $24.99, the same as the post-release standard edition, as a preorder.

Unknown Worlds also revealed that a four pack will also be available for $74.97.
