City of Heroes is under threat. NCsoft plans to shut the game's online servers down, thus ending over eight years of play time.

Dedicated fans of the game have been working hard to keep it online. A petition has over 13,000 signatures and is nearing its goal of 15,000.

Players are also speaking on a message board. Here, we can see the respectful and pleasant manner in which they are handling themselves. A fresh sight at a difficult time for the hardcore audience.

A recent in-game notification indicated that Paragon Studios is in talks with NCsoft's management. Right now, this has a long way to progress before the game is confirmed to be saved.

For a title based on superheroes, the effort from all the players involved is quite something.
