Bayonetta 2 not being released for 360, PS3

It seems that Bayonetta 2 will not be coming to the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 after all, since Nintendo has purchased the IP and will be making it exclusively for the Wii U.

The game was shown off at Nintendo's press conference on Thursday morning, and will be developed by Platinum Games with Sega co-publishing as a launch title.

If anyone ever needed an argument of why exclusive platforms are bad - here you have a golden example. Not that I played the first one, but had I and had played it on my Xbox and been a fan of the game - I would feel pretty much bu*****cked right about now...

Good that I learned early on never to reach down for the soap...

Don't worry. Bayonetta 2 will sell, if it's lucky, 50,000 copies. Bayonetta isn't a Nintendo title. Look what happened to games like Dead Space Extraction.

Considering no one really bought Bayonetta either and that the sequel was cancelled until Nintendo picked up for an exclusive, I think we should all be happy it exists at all.

Still, it's bizarre that the sequel to a game comes out exclusive to a platform holder that didn't get the last game at all.
