Despite poor reviews and fan response, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford wants to make a new Duke Nukem game. “I willingly and lovingly acquired the brand. When I did that, I wasn’t thinking that the only goal is just to make sure everyone could play Duke Nukem Forever,” Pitchford stated in an IGN interview, relating, “The real goal for me is I’d like to build a Duke Nukem game again.” “I think what I would do and what Gearbox would do would be a little different" than Duke Nukem Forever, Pitchford promised. He added, "I think it would be amazing, and I look forward to that.” Duke Nukem Forever was released last June 2011 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, receiving scathing reviews, though getting a less hostile 7.0/10 from Strategy Informer in its review.
