PlayStation VP of hardware marketing John Koller has been discussing the future of Sony's console. As Microsoft strive to make the Xbox 360 cheaper and Nintendo get ready to launch the Wii U, Koller indicates the PS3 has plenty more to offer across the next three years.

"A lot of great content is coming. And over the next 2-3 years, the PS3 has got an incredible lineup. That consumer coming in this fall is going to really have an opportunity to have great content and what we believe to be the best content in the industry.

Yeah, we watch what the competitors do, but we don't make decisions based on what they do. We like our position."

Sony continued to support the PS2 after the next console was launched. Koller's comments indicate the company will do the same for the PS3.

No doubt that PS4 will be backwards compatible at launch if this is true. Definitely something to note. Glad Sony plans to deliver to all of its platforms for awhile.
